Hi! Wurzel, my camera is heavy I should really get a smaller one, but i keep having second thoughts when it comes to forking out for one
I took it yesterday to take a photo of my Great Grand Daughter you can guess by that I'm no chicken

I want to keep going has much has I can but it's getting a bit harder these days I'm a golden Oldie Talk about "carry on regardless" Goldie

The camera on your mobile phone is a useful tool if you're not carrying your large one, Goldie.

I've tried that David but by the time I've got the camera out of my bag the Butterfly has flown off I'm planting more perennials into the Garden hope fully I'll get more Butterflies then, mean time I'll if we get a bit more Sun a few more will come into the Garden.Goldie

Good idea, Goldie. Mind you, I've had copious verbena out in my garden for weeks now with only one Meadow Brown and a couple of Small Whites visiting it.

It's been deplorably bad this year for butterflies. I do hope we have significantly better conditions in 2025.

Hi! Wurzel, I can change the Lenses on my camera and put a smaller one on, it's good for taking people etc but when it comes to distance not too good, I think when I wrote about buying a new camera I was fed up, I've just had to have a tooth out and I've to have another one out next week which I'm dreading I've been responsible for neglect I'm a afraid ,I've blamed covid and moving house now I'm paying the price Goldie

Good luck at the Dentist Goldie - I find that as I get older my I look forward to the visits less and less I was going to ask if your appointment was at 'tooth hurty' but that would have been a terrible joke... opps!

Already got the glasses and I'm putting the hearing aids off for as long as possible It's the retirement bit I'm looking forward too most

Managed to avoid reading glasses till I was almost 50, Goldie, but I'm totally reliant on them now. Have to take them into the supermarket so I can read the labels!

Distance vision like a hawk still though, which is useful when butterflies are your main interest.

Hi! Allan, I've made a few boobs myself lately Age has it's moments

I did mean the steps in the car park ,just this year my arthritis has got a bit worse ,I think not doing much walking in the winter hasn't helped , I've seen the path up by the allotments, never tried it because it meant parking on the road, but next year I may .

When you talked about Queens, i'm not sure where a-bouts that is , for some reason I've got Kings on the brain I need to be pointed in the right direction these days If I've been there already I can't remember

So much as been happening here, my Daughter has just moved House just below where I live which is great, we've just got a new Baby and there's another Baby due in the Spring , I'm hoping that makes me feel younger

Not "Queens" but Queendown Warren its a famous butterfly and Orchid site in North Kent ,situated off of the M2 at Stockbury ,near Sittingbourne.
As I said ,it may pay you to DM "TESTUDO MAN" a little later on,he knows the site very well ,and i,m sure he'll give you some help. I've included a couple of information shots re;location .....hope this helps. Allan.W.

I took lots of shots this year of the Holly Blue both in my garden and Castle park in Whitstable, looking through my shots lately I wondered if the shots I took in Castle Park was of the Holly Blue actually laying an egg, I dismissed it at the time, but now I think it may have been , any thoughts? Goldie

Thought I'd just add a few more shots of the Holly Blue I took in my Garden, can't you tell I'm fed up of the weather Goldie

Cracking second set of Holly Blue shots Goldie I'm not sure about the 'egg laying' ones - I can't see an egg and there doesn't seem to be enough black on the little of the fore wing visible to suggest it's a female - although it is very difficult to judge

Nice to see a bit of colour, Goldie. This is probably the worst time of year. It's dark at 4pm and won't noticeably improve for several weeks.

It hasn't helped that this seems to have been the greyest, most dismal month of November.
