Here is Phocides lilea (polybius), Guava Skipper, the only one I saw, but worthy of mention.
Everything shown on this thread, will have been photographed within 50sq metres of the land set out as a garden by the owners of Emerald Valley. !!

Will you be posting other butterflies or just (nothing "just" about them though!) skippers?

Fantastic Paul - love those Sicklewings! Very envious

Re: Central America - Honduras
Wow! Those last two are almost unreal (like an AI-generated butterfly).
Never heard of them before, but they are mightily impressive.

Re: Central America - Honduras
They are both really common in Emerald Valley.... do go there if you have the health and resources, it is a real butterfly paradise, deep in rainforest (which is not held in much regard by Honduras in general). He will collect at the San Pedro Sula airport, and return you there... I just stayed on site for a week, with my hosts, and the butterflies... food provided was fabulous and all in all it was a perfect getaway for a butterfly nut
.
More to come shortly....

Re: Central America - Honduras
Three similar "bentwing" skippers, usually butterfly wings are in a flat plane unless deformed, with these, the wing plane is "bent" normally, and very difficult to get in full focus using DSLR .....
Ebrietas anacreon, Common Bent Skipper .... Gorgythion begga, Variegated Skipper .... Helias cama, Squared Bent Skipper ....
