So few butterflies to photograph this year!

a Green Hairstreak from my local patch and a couple of Great Orme Silver-studded Blues.

Just for the record, that last (lovely) lesser spotted fritillary is a knapweed fritillary. I sent a PM but when I checked my outbox I found the last four PMs I sent were still there ... So I've gone public!

Many thanks. I will withdraw that photo. I had two photos of backlit lesser spotted fritillaries and then two of the knapweed fritillary which were wrongly tagged. I have sent a PM explaining why your messages were not picked up, due to two bereavements and a premature arrival of a grandson!!

I've made an effort to be "green" this year, so all of my photographs were taken locally in Lincolnshire.

My first gatekeeper of the season, lonely and as surprised to see me as i was it!

One from me - a female Common Blue seen locally on 24th May.The species loves these grass vetchlings and the warm wet spring weather this year produced a lush growth of the plant.
