Thank you Barrie for your extremely informative response. Yes, I am 6 miles from Burton Upon Trent and I work in the town.
I do receive the regular updates from Ken and exchange emails with him with regards the 2 transects I have established.
I would be extremely interested in the Silver-washed Fritillaries and several Dingy Skipper sites. With regards the latter, I have heard they quite like the nature reserve at Coton Park. I have also heard Ticknall Lime Pits is quite a good place to visit (though Ken wrote and told me it is closed at present).
I am quite familiar with the Norfolk drive and it is quite arduous. The last time I did it was to see the Brewers lose 3-1 to Norwich.
Thank you for informing me about the second Swallowtail brood David. I was totally unaware of that. I thought they appeared for 2-3 weeks late May to early June and that was that.
