No problem, Rob!

You can insert the quotes around what ever you like in addition to quoting from someone's post.

For example, when you quote from a post, as I have done above, the new 'post a reply' box starts with

[XXXquote="RobS"]sorry lee im just trying to work out how to quote someone before doing it in the main forum and your post just happened to be the one i chose.i think iv figured it out now :)[/quoteXXX]

I added the XXX so you can see how it appears before you submit or preview.

However, I could just say; 'Rob spends time alone under canvas' and surround it with the [XXXquote="Lee Hurrell"] and [/quoteXXX] (again, minus to the XXX) and it would appear thus:
Lee Hurrell wrote:Rob spends time alone under canvas
I hope this helps and isn't too confusing!

Cheers

If you select (i.e. click and run the mouse over) the bit of the message you wish to quote before you press the "Quote" button, only the words you selected will appear (as above) - easier than trimming afterwards!

But I think you can only do it 3 times (as in quote within quote within quote)!

Cheers
