I'm sitting here right now with Dan. Please stop being so offensive about my friends Jack.
Ps, Manchester isn't exactly on my doorstop...

Re: Fracking – Barton Moss Greater Manchester
Ps, we are not a minority. In a recent poll in the Manchester Evening News, 96% were against fracking. Nuff said.

Re: Fracking – Barton Moss Greater Manchester
Off to the Moss for the third time. It's not a short journey for me but every second I'm there is worth it. Some updates for those who are interested. The man 'threatening to kill' a security guard is my friend Peaceful Dan, an intelligent well informed man who has the 'misfortune' of being one of t...

Re: Fracking – Barton Moss Greater Manchester
Ok. I'm a little nervous about getting involved in this as I am so passionate about it and have a personal connection to it now having seen the incredible work the protesters are doing with my own eyes, the fracking rig itself and having spent a night and two days camping out in the freezing cold wi...

Re: The length of Britain - again!!
An idiot says yes once, a lunatic says yes twice!! So what do you call someone who asks twice? :) - Pete I don't know! There's either something very wrong with the way I think, or very right! At the moment it looks like we'll be giving up our flat and jobs to do it, like good, responsible adults......

Oh and ps, we did take loads of pics last time, just struggled to post them here whilst on the move. Lots of them are on our epic butterfly walk Facebook page and this time round we'll probably do some sort of blog

The length of Britain - again!!
Tonight I finally got around to watching Eddie Izzard's marathon man challenge. I cried nearly all the way through remembering the psychological and physical endurances of our own challenge in 2012. An idea formed and I breathlessly waited for Seth to get home to tell him my proposition. He said yes...

Re: April Sightings
I was quite literally beaten around the face by spring today! I was excited to get out and about today after seeing the weather forecast and as soon as I stepped out of the front door a Brimstone bounced off my head! My first butterfly of the year and a very symbolic start to the season I think! I w...

Re: Happy birthday Sami
How lovely guys, thank you! I've only just seen this thread! I had a great birthday and was thoroughly spoiled by my husband who even wrapped up a bottle of Moët in the fridge :) And a big thanks to Vince for a surprise donation :) Legendary? OK, I'll take that ;) Still need to see my first butterfl...

What lovely folk you all are :) I got Seth a four hour wildlife watching trip off the Cornish coast in a catamaran for his bday. Hopefully he'll catch up with Risso's dolphin (the only species in Britain I have up on him) and I might finally hear the end of it! ;D Regards plans for this year, it'll ...

Re: UK Butterflies Outstanding Contribution Award 2012
Thanks for the recognition and the lovely surprise :) the UKB folk were so supportive during our walk. Guy, we'd love to take a stroll in your neck of the woods! Just a small bone to pick... We walked the length of Britain, not the length of the country. We walked the lengths of 3 countries! ;) Than...

Re: Epic Butterfly Walk!
We actually made it in 48 hours and 4 minutes. Got to JOG at 4pm on the 6th, had a pint and started hitching at 6pm. We slept at a man's house that night who had given us a lift as we didn't realise we had to sleep on the wing! We started early the next day and hitched all day, sleeping for 6 hours ...

The plan is to hitch back to Land's end (we're totally broke!) to complete the round trip, then my mum is meeting us there for champagne and a lift back to Epsom

Re: Epic Butterfly Walk!
Really wanted to arrive at JOG tomorrow on our 3 month wedding anniversary but we'vedecided that it would just be foolish to push ourselves that far. We've done some serious mileage recently and we want to arrive full of beans rather than limping and exhausted, so we can savour every moment. So new ...
