I was sitting almost under a huge Oak tree wondering if the was a colony at the top when this one fluttered down.
I was so amazed I took about 60 photos mostly the same though

Do they vary in size? Today I saw one and thought it was the brimstone moth until I got close and found it to be a tiny Clouded yellow

We don't usually get Clouded Yellows down here in Exmouth.
The last time I saw them was in 2011. this year there has as you say been quite a few

Was your P. clouded Yellow like this one? I captured this in August
This one had a white sort of patch on the wing as you can see and was much paler than the others I have seen this month which are in a thread near the top
