Re: Large Skipper
Hi Pauline, I don't normally post, but your diligent observation persauded me otherwise. I have checked my large skipper photos taken over a number of years and all my ladies do have totaly black antennae. I must confess that despite Large Skippers being one of the butterflies I really enjoy observi...

Re: Durlston for Clouded Yellow
Thanks Paul for the useful info :D I am considering heading down, this time I will be able to drive our car which is a much easier and quicker :) Regardless of the weather, I think I may give it a shot. It would be the experience of the drive and not being stuck at home awaiting the 1st Semester whi...

Re: Durlston for Clouded Yellow
Thanks for the link Vince,
I think I might leave Friday's attempt. I have been asked to cover a shift and I would have to hire a car to get down there as Dad needs our one for the day. Might give next week a go however.
Have a nice time on Holiday,
Em

Durlston for Clouded Yellow
Hi All, I was wondering whether there has been any news on whether the Clouded Yellows are likely to be at Durlston towards the end of the week. The high pressure seems to be playing ball which in theory should attract them over from the continent. The only day I have free from work is Friday, and i...

Re: Fermyn Woods
Charles,
Good to see that your Purple Emporer shots turned out well, the butterfly really did sit beautifully on that log.
I have yet to check my results! With any luck I shall be able to take a drive to Fermyn by myself and give it another shot.
Lovely meeting you,
Em

Re: Jack Harrison
Hi Jack, Glad to see that you were able to get some lovely shots after all the pessimism about the weather! Later in the aftertoon, we - Charles included - were with a Purple Emporer which had been attracted to the paste. It sat there beautifully on the log and eventually opened its wings, what a st...

Re: Butterflies in the Glasshouse
Hi,
Unfortunately I was unable to go. I had made a day free in the half term, but things cropped up - like they do. Always next year, I'm sure.

Re: Image Storage Problems
Hi, Talking of online storage, I use this method to back up important files for work (job) and coursework files. The only problem I have had is downtime when trying to access backed up work. Personally, I use both my laptops HardDrives (just like having an external one, but it's built in), DVD discs...

Wow Pete, that's brilliant!
I can conclude that I am certainly heading South next season!
It'll be interesting to see whether or how that changes as the years go by, how can we get involved with data submission?

Re: Successes and failures
Hi,
My buddleia failed this year, though it was moved and never really took off in it's new location. It was a supprise, as I was certain I did it properly!
Can anyone recommend where I can get a dark purple one from? I've only seen the light purple and white ones at garden centers lately...

Re: 2010 Photography Workshop
If it is fair, would I be able to hold an 'if place'. I ask as the only way I will be able to come, is if I could drive myself there. Which means I have to be able for a start and have passed in time. Only if it's fair for everyone else, I don't want to reserve a place and be unsure when someone who...

Hi All, Just thought I'd let you know, that I can see a lot better than I ever could before. I thought I'd better let you all know just in case you were wondering why I could be describing things more visually, as I am sure will start happening. It's early days and I have yet to go out butterflying ...

Re: Photoshop
Hi Mark, I'll just mention a few of my thoughts before I dash off, Elements it what I will probably get after my license for CS3 is over, (I have it installed through my school), as for photo stuff, I don't use all the features for it. However when I was doing full graphics editing I used everything...
