Re: Spain Butterfly
Thanks, just had a Speckled Wood in the garden this morning, have to say looks very different from this sub-species but looking it up can see that's what it was.

Small Tortoisehells
Is this a really bad year for Small Torts? I ask because I have seen plenty of Peacock & Red Admiral in my garden but in the last two months I would say I haven't seen a single ST. Been on a couple of outings to Chambers Wood in Lincolnshire and didn't see one there either so was wondering what ...

Similar but not quite I think, it's the brown head that I'm hoping will clinch it with someone.

Hairy Caterpillar
Thought this might have been a Garden Tiger or similar but looking it up doesn't seem so. Can anyone oblige with the species. Was crawling on the path in my garden so would be interested in the food plant it came from

I understand they have been seen near to "fiveways". Don't ask me where that is though.

Re: Lincolnshire Sites
Not sure how far you want to travel but I think Chambers Farm Wood near Bardney must be the best place in Lincs for Butterflies, White Admirals, Marbles Whites etc.
Otherwise check the Lincs Trust website there are a number of reserves on the Humber bank closer to Cleethorpes

Now I've looked at that has the right feel about it, the only thing is this was the middle of the day, would the Convulvulus be out then?

Menorcan Moth Id
Just rediscovered this rather shaky video I took of what I presume is a moth in Menorca. It was a lot bigger than the Hummingbird Hawk appearing briefly at the end.
Would love to know what it was

Moth Id please
This was on the side of my house, quite a long way up so couldn't get a good luck with a naked eye, but also quite big for a moth I would say

Red Admirals
Not so much a sighting as lack of.
Just struck me watching hordes of Painted ladies and Peacocks over the last few days that I don't recall seeing a single Red Admiral this year (and only one Comma) in the garden.
Is this pattern repeated elsewhere or is it just me
