Re: June 2019
That mating pair of SWF is superb! Certainly none out on my walk today in Belfairs Nature Reserve, likewise White Admirals. Shouldn't be long now... Aside from the first few Ringlets of the year, I can only contribute this wonderful female Meadow Brown from today: 65182067_2352996011443534_825554347...

Can report that this invasion of Painted Ladies and Red Admirals is also well underway in Essex. 5 of the former seen on my walk this morning, another very neat example on my Red Valerian this afternoon along with another very fresh Red Admiral. Only recently did I start paying attention to what I a...

Lots of Small Blue at Hutchinson's Bank in New Addington today. And during a period of sunshine a single Glanville Fritillary. Andrew, good to meet you. Re: February 2019
Large Tort is interesting - have seen reports of a Camberwell Beauty in Sussex on Facebook, too.
I myself had at least 2 Commas on my lunchtime walk today.

Re: February 2019
At least 3 Brimstones & a Red Admiral up Acres Down in the New Forest yesterday.
Interestingly, a full 36 days earlier than my first sightings in 2018.
Roll on summer...

Hello!
Hi fellow lepidopterists! Thought I’d pop my head round and say hello (think is the right place)! I’ve lurked for a number of years but decided that I would sign up finally and get myself involved. I’m based in both Guildford & Southend-on-Sea so have good access to a large amount of what the UK...
