Hi all I've seen the odd flutterby recently - but today at Pennington Flash, Leigh, Lancs there were loads. Today I saw 5 different species and managed to photograph three. Brimstone and (I think) Holly Blue elluded the camera but... 1. Orange tip http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v446/Kaliyoda/Wiga...

Still seeing VERY few butterflies compared to this time last year! Snapped this on Sunday afternoon. EXIF Data is intact for those that want it - but be warned - the ISO settings on some of these may upset some of you :D 1. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v446/Kaliyoda/Martinmere/2008/July2008/MM2...
Re: Ticks
I've had three of these over the last 2 years. Here's one I dug out of my leg the day after a trip photographing Red Kites at Gigrin Farm in Wales... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v446/Kaliyoda/tic1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v446/Kaliyoda/tic2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...

Hi all It's been a while  My first proper bug-bothering session of the year this morning. Mainly chasing Large Red Damselflies around Risley Moss in Warrington. Just one butterfly shot - this Holly Blue. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v446/Kaliyoda/Risley/2008-05-11/RisleyMoss110508-HollyB...

Arnside Knott
Had my first wander up Arnside Knott of 2007 today.
Not much about...
A few Common blue
A few Speckled wood
One very friendly Red Admiral
Lots of Small Heath
Lots of Large Skipper
A few of one of the Fritillaries - not sure which.
Photos to come.
