Re: Is there an influx of Painted ladies?
I think it's mostly now the offspring of those that arrived earlier in the summer. In Llandudno this week there were more than I could count feeding on a large buddleia.

Plenty of White-faced Darters at Fenn's and Whixall Moss today
Re: July 2018
Silver-washed Fritillary taken at Llynclys Hill today with my Samsung Mobile

Re: June 2018
Large Heath in good numbers at Fenn's and Whixall Moss. Devilishly difficult to photograph - rarely alighting and when they do they tend to bury themselves amongst the grass - usually with a bog between you and the insect!

Re: May 2018
White-faced Darter seen at Fenns and Whixall Moss. I woulds have posted this on UKdragonflies but that site seems to be defunct.

Re: April 2017
What a glorious day. Orange-tip, Speckled Wood and Holly Blue all see at home - very early for this part of the world - usually towards the end of the month before first sightings. Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Willow-warbler all arrived early too - seems to be that kind of year.

Butterflies in Bangkok
Travelling to Thailand next month - staying mostly in Bangkok. Is there anywhere in that area that anyone can recommend for seeing butterflies in the wild?

Silver-washed Fritillaries in good numbers on Llynclys Hill

Re: June 2015
With the temperature soaring up to 20 degrees decided a trip to Fenn's and Whixall Moss was in order. Quite a few Large Heath were sighted (apologies for the pic best I could do - for reference only!). Also first Ringlets and Meadow Brown of the year as well as White-faced Darters.
Re: June 2015
Visit to Morfa Harlech dunes yesterday - cool and mostly overcast but lots of Common Blues, one Small Heath and my first Dark Green Fritillary of the year.

Re: May 2015
Some nice Common Blues at Fenn's Moss this afternoon - also a few Brimstone around as well as my first White-faced Darter of the year.

Re: May 2015
Saw a Red Admiral today locally - also a few Speckled Wood. Whites are thin on the ground as yet although Orange-tips have been around for a while. Actually managed to snap a male today feeding on some Lady's smock.
