A male Long-tailed Blue was photographed at Southwick Basin, (Shoreham), Sussex by David Cook on 8th August. In past years this has been a good, solid site for this migrant species. Reported on Sussex BC website http://www.sussex-butterflies.org.uk/sightings/

By the end of September it became clear that the 2017 migration of this species had stalled, with only one other sighting reported. This came from Keith Heaven, who photographed a Long-tailed Blue at Sandwich Bay, Kent on 28th September.
Reported on Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory website http://sbbot.org.uk/sightings-2/butterflies/
