M40 compensation area

Post by Mark Tutton »

Seems that this site - great for black hairstreak - is now closed.
Not sure of the reasons?
Kind Regards

On the comments under the post:

Butterfly Conservation Upper Thames Branch
The land belongs to the Highway Agency. We've been trying to get them to put up deer fencing for years, and finally now they have. We hope this will at last allow the blackthorn to regenerate, which is critical if the area is to retain its usefulness for the Black and Brown Hairstreak. Sadly, they've also decided to gate it, and we have no access, not even for the transect that goes through it. Hopefully we'll be able to arrange access at some point...
