Inverness and the Highlands

Post by Ausha »

Dear all

I am new here. Looking for some information on possible sites to visit in Inverness and the Highlands area.

I did visit Glasdrum woods last month to see the Chequered skipper. I am not sure what sites I can visit over the remaining part of the season to see some butterflies and/or dragonflies. Any information is most appreciated.

Many thanks

Regards

Welcome to this forum, Ausha. I'm pleased to know that Jack has provided you with helpful advice based on his local knowledge. I held back because I do not have that knowledge but I do know that there are several interesting dragonfly species to be found in your area. The British Dragonfly Society has a web page specifically about Scottish species at http://www.british-dragonflies.org.uk/c ... sh-species which leads to pages about each individual species.

I wish you success and look forward to seeing further posts from you, about the butterflies to be found in your area.

Mike
