A while back, I mentioned my method of stalking and photographing Orange Tips in the wild.

It is pretty hopeless chasing males. But on a day with sunshine and clouds you have a chance. Watch for that cloud to obscure the sun. When the sun goes in, the butterfly will almost always land within about 45 seconds. Stay with it, get the camera ready and focussed and watch for the cloud to clear. Be ready. When the sun comes out, you have about 20 seconds. It will slowly open its wings, pose beautifully and then very quickly will be off again.

I might add that it took me more than 50 years to realise how to stalk Orange Tips. I hope I can save you some time.
