Better than a Purple Emperor?

Female Silver-washed Fritillary f. valezina at Fermyn Woods today. I didn't see anything large and Purple but still went home very happy!

It seems that the area that valezina occurs has expanded with the expansion in SWFs in recent years, it would be good to plot where they occur now.

Saw one there last year, never came close though like yours.

I'm off to Fermym Wood next week, ( weather Permitting ) if I don't see the PE, I won't mind if I see one like your great photo of the Valezina , never seen any shots to compare with them yet :mrgreen: Goldie :D
