Pyrgus.com - New Website

Post by Willem »

Dear,

I've almost finished a new website dedicated to butterfly photography.. I hope you can enjoy it.
Btw, I'm still trying to identify the caterpillar on the homepage ( Julian Alps - Slovenia - August)

http://www.pyrgus.com

It's more flashy than my old one http://www.maanvlek.be/indexuk.htm and the emphasis is on the photographic experience, rather than the numbers of species listed.

I'll still make some make-up changes in the near future.. but I would like to show this work in progress already.

Wim
Kind Regards

Haha, this is just damnably good, both website & domain and photos.

Did you make it on your own, or did you just pay a pro?

If you wander into my country one day, I might be your guide.

All, I optimized the site and :D my photographs... reduced the size significantly of each picture while improving quality ( I never thought of this before. ) , got the fullscreen pictures right.... added species list ... and some small stories in a blog...added facebook button.. automatic language support in English/Dutch..

In short.. I did have some fun... cu...and as I said before :) :) , ... added links to a great website called waarnemingen.be & waarneming.nl on each species page.. which gives species statistics in Belgium & Netherlands.
I believe there's some English website which does the same, but I can't remember the name..
Kind Regards

A really lovely site - obviously the result of much hard work apart from the excellent photography. Certainly a site which I shall use and enjoy. Very many thanks for posting. :D .
