Lots of Chalkhill Blues this year, but I like this one of mine best. It was taken on The Masts reserves (Prestbury) and it was a notable occasion because my non-butterflying friend completely fell for butterflies after spending some time with these freshly emerged males

I think the couple of hours that I spent at Denbies that day is my stand out best butterflying day of 2013. It was magical to see so many chalkhills :)

My favourite images from this year all taken at Denbies Hillside. The last one is of the hill and although it doesn't show up without close scrutiny about every fourth or fifth flower head had a chalkhill blue or some other butterfly on. It is an incredible memory.
