Purple Emperor Safari Knepp Castle

Post by Susie »

Yesterday at the pub some of us were talking about other field trips we could do. I suggested this one.

It is expensive but in my view worth every penny. There is so much to see, you have the best possible guides and a lovely lunch is laid on too.

So, all we'd have to do is decide the date we wish to go on and then book up our own places.

Obviously space will be limited so it will be first come first served!

Is there any interest?

Very definitely Susie. It'll be good to decide on a date early on so I can guarantee the day free.

Im wondering about the 1st July as there will be a better chance to see a male on the ground.

I have asked Neil for his opinion though, and will revert to here once I hear back.

Neil has replied that Sunday 2 July may be a safer bet. Thank you, Neil :D

Historically we've done walks on Saturdays but I see no reason why it couldn't be a Sunday for once. Would a Sunday be difficult? If there are no negative suggestions regarding a Sunday field trip I reckon that's a good date to go for so, once again I'll ask for your opinions? What do you think?

I'm interested in this but my work rota may change next year so I'll wait for a date to be finalized and then wait to see if I need to book it off or not. I'll also need help getting to and from there...Susie?

Hiya Buggy,

I'd be happy to do a trip to the nearest train station in the morning and afternoon on the day. I can take three people. lifts can be organised nearer to the time.

If anyone is travelling a long way there is camping on site too (at a cost).

My money and time is likely to be spent at the other end of the country unfortunately, Knepp will have to wait for another year for me.

I'm off to Knepp on Sunday. Reading Neil Hulme's diary on this site it looks like I can expect a cracking day. :D
