Instant Erudition

Post by MikeOxon »

What an amazing site this is! I browsed a thread about Tics and soon found myself learning new words (widdershins), following a discussion on Middle High German, then philology, then Latin binomials..... A good job the thread was labelled 'General', so none of this was 'off topic'. What a change from the banal content of so many websites. I've only been a member for a short while and look forward to many more mind-expanding encounters! Oh, by the way, there's a lot of good butterfly stuff too!!

As far as I am aware polyphag(o)us can be spelt (spelled) both(either) ways but what do I know, it's all Greek to me!
