Stunning butterflies at Newborough Warren on Anglesey - can anyone identify this one for me please ?

Hi - that's a Speckled Wood, though a very dark one with unusually obscure markings, with the hindwing spots noticeably reduced.

That's a very striking specimen. I don't think I have ever personally seen such a dusky individual as that (and I've seen multi-thousandsof Speckled Woods!!)
