Notes and Views - August 2016

Post by Vince Massimo »

A Long-tailed Blue was reported in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park by Terry Lyle on 10th August. Photo and report on Tower Habitats Website http://www.towerhabitats.org/news/long- ... y-park.htm

Although this is an interesting sighting, it is an isolated one, with no other reports coming in from coastal areas.

Hi Vince,

Would that not possibly be a second brood SPBF like regularly occurs a bit further west in Cornwall ?

Cheers,

Neil.

I was thinking that, too, Neil. The Cornwall BC site has reports of 10 SPBF seen at Kynance on 7th August.

Thanks guys, I will try to stand closer to the life cycle chart next time :)
This individual is clearly part of a second brood, which is not such an unusual event.
