My shots were taken at Temple Ewell in Kent and most of my shots were hampered by long grass etc, I think I only got one shot where the wings were open and even that shot managed to get some grass in there It was great to see them as last year I missed them completely .Goldie
I'd just like to say congrats to all the winners and runners up, I think their shots were great :D I myself never expect to win, I'm not joking it's a fact, I enter because I enjoy doing so and if it means I'm improving each year that's good enough for me, it would be nice to have some feed back but...

My Skipper shots are from Brockholes CP on the 14th June and HLB on the 24th June, the weather was reasonable on the day but with lots of cloud it wasn't too good locally this year for the LS I saw very few. Goldie

We went to Foulshaw Moss on the 17th June to look at the Osprey, I thought we were too early for the Large Heath but I was really pleased to finally see them after last year when they were all in hiding because of the awful weather , I did get some aerial shots last year but nothing out standing. It...

I saw so many Large Whites last year it was great, not having seen too many the year before, my first shot was taken at my local haunt Hall-Lee-Brook on the 9th of June, the Butterfly was just about to take off when I got a lucky open shot. My second was the 28th of July in East Blean Woods whilst l...
Hi! David, it looks like Morning is definitely the best time then, I'm very glad to find this out from you and essex, it helps to to know the habits of the Butterflies your looking for. I've usually arrived at Gait Barrow about 11am some times a bit later, I'll have to try to get there for about 10a...
Thanks for that essex, it will save me loads of time and may be Gait Barrow will be the place to visit in the mornings after all to find them I'll still try for that week-end in the South though but now I know not to bother after 3pm Goldie
Hi! Mike, looks like I'll have to go to Sussex again but this time in August :D if I do it'll be Kent first for a couple of weeks then carry on and have a week-end in Sussex looking for BH's, :D that should give me time to look in the evening and the day time, can't do the evening at Gait Barrow, we...
Hi! Wurzel, nice shots of the moths , I was surprised last year when I didn't see very many, i took lots of the Burnetts and one or two more but it was my worse year for seeing them. Goldie

I was late this year in finding the High Brown, we didn't go to Arnside Knot until the 5th of August when I hoped to see the Scotch Argus, I was taken by surprise when in the field there these rather shiny Butterflies put in an appearance :D The weather had been awful and we'd taken a chance hoping ...

My photo of an open winged HB was taken on the 8th May at Hall-Lee-Brook, I saw more Holly Blues this year than I've ever seen before so hope fully this will be good for next year. My other two shots were taken in July on the 28th and 29th in Kent, one at Seasalter which was a surprise, I'd gone the...
Hi! David, It was a shock :D It seems at Fermyn the WLH landing ground level is no surprise, ( so I was told ) last year I saw The PE and the PHS also on the ground at Fermyn, so it looks like Fermyn is the definite place to go for these species. The WLH I saw at Bolton Woods was definitely at eye l...
Hi! Neil, we've got a stand like that, never thought to get a globe to go with it I showed it to my Husband so it's all systems go Lovely shots of the Sunsets , nothing but rain here lately Goldie
Always great to follow your escapades Wurzel, :D Like you I love to watch the Swallows when they dip for water, that's a good shot considering how quick they are. You always seem to find the Gate Keeper ab's has well on your travels :D There did seem to be quite a lot of the excessa ab this year. Go...
