Re: Canon 6D and Lightroom 2

I have sorted it by downloading Adobe DNG converter which converts any RAW images from many makes of camera to Digital negative(DNG). The images can then be downloaded to Lightroom. It saves the cost of a subscription to Lightroom. See https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/adobe-dng-converter.html...

Re: Canon 6D and Lightroom 2

I have found this on the internet which may be my answer. "Raw file formats are extremely popular in digital photography workflows because they offer creative professionals greater creative control. However, cameras can use many different raw formats — the specifications for which are not publi...

Re: Canon 6D and Lightroom 2

Thanks Kevin. You may well be correct. However, I have been using this version of Lightroom for several years and it works fine with my Lumix FZ200 and my Canon 7D. It is odd that it does not cope with full frame on the 6D.

Canon 6D and Lightroom 2

I have just bought a secondhand Canon 6D with all the Canon software CDs. I usually use Lightroom 2 to process my photos but the raw CR2 images from the 6D cannot be found on Lightroom 2. I have used the Canon software to view the photos but would like to continue using Lightroom for all my photos. ...

Lumix FZ200

I have just taken some videos on my Lumix FZ 200 and one of the videos can neither be played nor deleted from the SD card. I have three other bits of video which are fine in MP4 format. Any ideas what has happened?

Re: Annual 2017 Competition

Despite disappointment in the 2017 annual photographic competition I was pleased when Hants and IOW Wildlife Trust contacted me for one of my photos for their 2018 calendar. It is a back-lit small pearl-bordered fritillary, now sadly extinct on the IOW. :D :D

Re: December 2017

I saw this butterfly recently in an out of town shopping centre in Northern Spain. It must be a Spanish festoon.

Sigma 150-600 contemporary lens

Hi,
I bought this lens recently for wildlife photography in general and birds in particular. I have a Canon 7D Mk1 and I am disappointed with the sharpness of the photos even when on a tripod or similar. Any comments would be appreciated. :( :(

I saw this small copper in Norfolk a fortnight ago. Is it an aberration or normal colouring?

Butterflies flying when overcast skies

Ringlet (1).jpg I have just returned from visiting a butterfly site where I would expect to see 11 species at this time of year. However, due to very overcast skies only two species were seen. One meadow brown and several ringlets flying quite happily and posing for photos. Is this usual? Ringlet.j...

Ringlet and meadow brown mating?

I photographed a ringlet mating today with what looked like a meadow brown. Is this possible? Also, saw a male black-tailed skimmer today on the IOW.

Butterfly sites near Framingham Suffolk

My wife and I will be in Suffolk from 7 July for a week , then in Mid Norfolk for five days. Where is the best place to see butterflies? Is it too late for swallowtails?
