Off the mark in sunny Warrington, I was surprised to see my first brimstone before lunch and then decided to have a good look on the canal bank alongside my house, plenty of commas in flight, three to four at a time fighting and displaying, also spotted two pristine peacocks.

Im off the mark in the sunny North west Sankey valley park Warrington, two reds in flight, at the back of my house a commer, three small torts and a peacock, spring is definitely here

Hi Janet and welcome from me
I'm local to you and live in Warrington and do most of my butterfly spotting in the Sankey valley canal area, I've also tried Moore quarry . Well done on your butterflies so far we are always about two to three weeks behind the people down in the sunny south

Well ive done it , ive been envious of all the posts of people seeing butterflies down south i got out after lunch today on the river bank by my house and they where everywhere , i managed four different types on my camera bring on the orange tips tortoiseshell.JPG peacock.JPG brimstone.JPG comma.JPG

Well it's not a butterfly but a very large bumblebee visited my Warrington garden today ,it enjoyed nectering on the crocus and myself and daughter enjoyed watching it. The frogs are also very active not long now spring is just around the corner

Keep the food going Goldie and you will get rewarded,in my garden this afternoon I had the great spotted woodpecker here every winter now also the willow tits is now a winter regular not to mention the jays and I spotted a tree creeper on the oak tree at the bottom of the garden also.
