Re: July 2015

Saw a male Brimstone today, previous generation, which could make it a year old and flying with it's own offspring could be a possibility. The latest i have seen one.

Re: Chalkhill Blue male or female

Hi Buggy,

they turn up now and again, but not that common as far as i know. I have personally only seen the orange markings once, but i know other people on this forum have seen them. Photo below.

Stunning photos, Guy. If the butterflies are more beautiful in the flesh, then they must be more than stunning.

Re: Nick Broomer

Hi Guy, thank you for the ID, really appreciated. The Lattice Brown is not an easy butterfly to photograph, especially as i didn't even know what species of butterfly i was seeing. But i managed to work it out on how to go about getting a photo and, got lucky with a photo of each sex. Thanks Buggy f...

Re: Neil Freeman

Hi Neil,

Just been looking at your diary.

Lovely photos as usual but, that female Speckled Wood ovipositing must be the photo of the year. What are the chances of getting the butterfly at that angle, just as she deposits an egg on the grass stem. Brilliant. :D

All the best, Nick.
