The final instalment from the summer of 09. The Marbled White was taken at Red Hill on the Wolds and the Silver-studded Blue was taken at Kirkby Moor LWT. An introduction I believe - I don't know if this small colony has survived on the heather or not. It is only right and proper to leave the Painted Lady shot until the end. The summer of 2009 will be forever synonymous with this species. I remember with fondness seeing fully twenty of them on a client's Buddleia one hot August afternoon. It could be another 15 years or so until we see a migration on that scale.
